Hey there, the Byrne Family here.
Our family woke up one morning about 7 years ago and our son was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes. We had no idea what it meant but our lives changed pretty dramatically. No 8 year old should have to be burdened with that responsibility.
He's grown up quite a bit since then and the condition hasn't prevented from being an outstanding student and athlete but we like to do what we can to try to prevent other families from dealing with this.
My employer, Linkedin, has a great donation match incentive program in place and we figured we'd take advantage of it. If we can get at least $250 in donations, Linkedin will match every dollar.
We've chosen JDRF as our charity. Please help them work toward a world where:
Your blood glucose levels can be controlled automatically
You can sleep, eat, exercise, and live as if T1D is not in your life
T1D can be cured and is no longer present in your body
T1D can be prevented and never threaten anyone again
