Help Ed Levick Recover From Surgery

Hey Halifax Music Lovers:
Many people who go to live music events in Halifax may know Ed Levick (Fast Ed). Not only is he a staple at many many live music events, he is a huge supporter of local talent, and has worked with and helped many artists over the years including Jimmy Flynn, Dutch Robinson, Jenn Miller, John Cyr, Charlie A'Court and Matt Andersen to name a few. He was also on the Board for MIANS for 7 years (now Music Nova Scotia).
I just got back from visiting Ed Levick in the hospital today (Dec. 17th). He's had some medical issues recently which landed him in the ER 11 times over the last little while, culminating in him having to have some surgery. The prognosis is all good, nothing life threatening or anything, and he's in good spirits, but the recovery time is long and he's already been off work since October. Ed normally drives a school bus and really misses seeing the kids everyday.
Needless to say, being off since work since October, Ed is struggling a bit financially right now which is also blocking him from getting out of the hospital since he needs some cash to pay for home support and buy some medical devices he'll need during his recovery (bathroom handrails, etc).
Ed's tentative return to work date at this point is around the 3rd week of February. In true Ed fashion, once he's recovered, he'd like to use any excess money that may be generated by this campaign to give back to the musical community by hiring some artists to perform at a show or maybe even help some other people he's recently learned are also having financial struggles due to medical issues.
Ed has selflessly helped so many people over the years, and was reluctant to even do this but sometimes when you've had a few unforseen setbacks you just need to put it out there and ask for some help, so with his blessing I've convinced him to allow me to put this out there.
I know the timing for this is bad, 1 week before Christmas and everything, but it won't take a lot to get Ed squared away and many hands make light work, and if you know Ed, you know he knows a LOT of people, so at the very least please help me share this around so it can reach everyone that knows him.
