Help Durham Family
Aloha Friends and Family of the Durhams:
We are writing to ask for your help in raising funds for the Durham Family. Some back background of the situation.
On November 22, 2018, Lynette, Ricky's wife returned home with their children to find her Ricky standing in their driveway dazed and unable to communicate.
Upon getting him back into the house, Ricky collapsed to the floor and had a seizure. After being taken to the closest hospital and stabilized, he was transferred to Tripler Army Medical Center, here on on the Island of Oahu. After several hours of testing, (CT and MRI's scans), it was discovered that Ricky has Stage 4 Brain Cancer. It is an aggressive type of Glioblastoma.
Early this morning Ricky, underwent a lengthy surgery to remove the tumor, the 4-6 hours surgery was spent praying for a miracle. The doctors were able to safely remove 75-80% of the tumor. Ricky will need to undergo physical therapy learn to speak again as well as radiation and chemo to try and get rid of the rest of the cancer.
The doctors had originally given him a survival rate of 1 1/2 years to 2 1/2 year, but now Lynette is being told possibly only a few months. We are still hoping and praying that some miracle will come through
Lynette now must break the news to her 3 children.
Alittle bit about the family...
Lynette and Ricky have been married for 20 years and meet right after Lynette graduated high school and Rick was stationed in Hawaii. From the moment they met, they never wanted to be far from one another. Every year, weather it was an Anniversary, Birthday or Christmas, Lynette paints something to celebrate their love.
Ricky is the sole provider for his family and would do anything for his wife and kids. Ricky enjoys spending time with his family and making life long memories.
He is also a Veteran of the United States Navy with 20 years of service and has made a career of the Navy and was looking to retire in a few years.
We are humbling asking to please help us in raising funds to help Lynette take care of the bills and provided for the kids in this difficult time.
Even if you are unable to donate, a kind word will go a long way. .
