Help dad sail through his illness

My dad Chiu Man aged 66 is a self taught engineer for fishing boats, based in a small town in the southern part of Hong Kong. Being the eldest child in a large family of 10, he left education at an early age to enter into an aprenticeship and to provide for the family. He dedicated over 50 years of his life to the fishing trade and is considered a very experienced and knowledgeable tradesman among his peers.

In recent years, he has been diagnosed with bladder cancer, sleep apnea, diabetes and high blood pressure. While battling these illness, he continues to work tirelessly to provide service for his clients 6 days a week.

In order to reach his clients, he spent years creating a work boat with all his tools and machinery on board which enable him to carry out repair work for clients wherever the location.

 
In the early morning of 2/8/17 disaster struck, his work boat was sunk due to damages caused by recent bad weather. For a man who has worked so hard to provide for his family for all those years, his livelihood has vanished overnight.

With the help of his friends, he was able to savage the wreckage out of the sea (please see pic on 'updates' page), but all the tools and machinery on board will have to be written off. The cost of repairing the boat and replacing the equipment will total over £15,000.

With mounting medical cost for his illness, it's not possible for him to find the funds to continue his lifelong passion.

This boat means so much to my dad and is what has kept him active while fighting his illness.
