Help cover Boogie's surgery cost

Hello all!

My name is Alyssa and I am a current senior at Kansas State University. In addition to being a student, I am a friend, a server, an intern, and most importantly, I am a dog momma.

Boogie is a seven-year-old American bulldog, and her sister, Vallie is a seven-year-old miniature schnauzer. They were both rescued around the same time and over the years have become the best of friends.

A few years ago, Boogie was admitted to the hospital and had an intestinal obstruction which had turned necrotic. She had over 12 inches of intestine removed and was hospitalized for 5 days. Along with this surgery, boogie had some complications which resulted in more vet visits and stays.

This surgery, drain tubes, and vet visits resulted in over $5,000 in bills. Luckily, I have a very wonderful family who helped save my baby.

Boogie, being the bulldog she is, escaped her kennel on Veteran's Day while I was at work. She rummaged though the house as she pleased and got into the trash and laundry basket.

Today, around 2:30a.m., I woke up to boogie getting sick. This continued to happen every 30 minutes until I took her to the emergency vet this morning.

After bloodwork and x-rays, the doctors were concerned considering this had happened previously the doctors wanted to immediately take her into surgery. At Kansas State Veterinary Hospital, they require that 60% of the estimated cost is required before they preform the surgery.

Immediately I went to the bank and drained both of my accounts to help cover the deposit. Boogie's surgery was quoted to be $3,500.

Being a college student, money is tight. I have been saving over my four years here at K-State in hopes to (comfortably) be able to move out of state once I receive my degree.

Boogie is more than just a dog, she is my baby, my best friend and one of two furry faces that make my heart whole. Boogie is so loved not only by me, but by all who meet her. She is such a loving, ornery, bulldog that is full of so much love.

I know everyone says, if it wasn't important, I wouldn't ask for donations. Boogie is one in a million and I would run to the end of the earth to have my pups be healthy and happy.

Every penny helps and is so incredibly appreciated.

Please keep Boogie in your thoughts and prayers and thank you all for everything!
