Help Coco Fight Parvo

Help Coco Fight Parvo!

Coco is an adorable 9 week old puppy that was just diagnosed with a deadly virus called Parvo. She is fighting a tough battle and treatment to save her life involves expensive 24-hour care and hospitalization, costing upwards of $8,000 - $10,000. Since Coco is only 2 pounds and so young, she needs to be treated aggressively to fight this virus. She is currently at Conejo Valley Hospital and is in an isolated care unit with feeding tubes connected to her, IVs and is receiving medication...When we were checking her in, she threw up blood and almost passed out on the examining table.

Despite all that is going on with her, she is still sometimes wagging her tail and showing signs of hope to come back to her loving home. Her white blood cell count has not dropped, which is one of the more positive signs that her body is still fighting. However, due to her size, weight and the inability to eat and keep food down,  she is going to continue to need extensive treatment.

We are doing what we can to treat her and get her help, but the out of pocket expenses are more than most families can handle all at once. Any help is appreciated, even if it is a small amount! We know that some people can't donate, so all we ask is that you keep Coco in your prayers and thoughts. We want to bring her home as a healthy pup and give her a good life!

Any funds donated will go directly to Coco's hospital bill.

Day 3 - Noon Update
Coco is not showing signs of going home any time soon. Her white blood cell count and protein levels are dropping, which is a normal part of Parvo and it means her body is getting weaker and harder to fight this deadly virus. She received some syringe fed food last night and regurgitated a little bit of it, but had no diarrhea...which is a positive sign. However, she still has a ways to go and is unfortunately showing no interest in food. The vet bills seem to be increasing and increasing and we are estimated another $1100 to get her through the next 24 hours. We have made over 20 phone calls seeking out help, advice or guidance from local hospitals, shelters and rescues. We currently were referred to a local hospital we are highly considering transferring Coco to, but since it is Sunday we haven't been able to get a hold of the Vet yet and we are at our cap of what we can spend to further treatment.

Day 2 - 8PM Update:

Swollen stomach and intestines.  Our goal for the night is for her to keep the food in her body...that's the #1 goal for right now.

She's still fighting...pink coating in mouth/stomach to help calm and settle her so hopefully she can keep food down and not have diarrhea/vomit. We need her to absorb the food's nutrients.

Day 2 - 2PM Update:
She's trying to hang in there with multiple medicines getting pushed through the IV's every few hours.

IV fluids are needed for hydration, that's basically how it kills your dog by lack of fluids from the excessive vomiting and diarrhea.  She is  still not eating ....

Parvo is no joke and not fun - One of the worst things that can happen to a dog!

Day 1

At the hospital when all you want to do is be a puppy!

Getting lots of hugs at the hospital, she loves to cuddle
