Help Clarence post-cardiac arrest & loss of arm

Donation protected
We are asking for help for Clarence in his recovery from a momentous health crisis right on the heels of a challenging bout with cancer just last year. He is still in the hospital and faces more procedural battles and medical bills post-cardiac arrest and loss of his right arm. Some of you may know him as a fashion and portrait photographer, Tallulah's dad, banjo player, and city biker. That person now needs your help. Please give as generously as you can. Clarence is yearning to return home, quite brave and ready to begin recovery and adjusting to the loss of his dominant arm, and remains enthusiastic about his current project, a series of portraits of skateboarders to be exhibited in the spring, and is looking forward to going back to work on that!

On December 29th, 2018, while at home without warning, Clarence suffered a cardiac arrest.  His roommate quickly called for help and extensive resuscitative efforts stabilized Clarence enough to rush him to Woodhull Hospital where they initiated low body temperature protocol to prevent further organ damage. The next morning he was transferred to Bellevue Hospital where he remains now. He was in the critical care unit in a coma for several days. Having been deprived of oxygen for some time, his chances of recovery were slim. His family was asked to consider his last wishes and they had to imagine a world without him. Family and friends prayed over him and to the great surprise of doctors who deemed it a miracle,  after five days Clarence gradually opened his eyes and came out of the coma with his mind intact.

Cardiac arrest outside of a hospital is very dangerous. Clarence and his family are beyond grateful that he has survived, yet the loss of his right arm due to a thrombotic event has been devastating. Procedures on his arm have been extensive and more needs to be done before further surgery is possible to stabilize his heart. He has already spent two months in the hospital. On his behalf, we ask for your help now. Help him get through these remaining months of surgery and physical therapy, and to venture into the next chapter of his life.
