Help Claire Fight Cancer

Donation protected

My family could really use some help at the moment. Some of you may or may not know that cancer has struck our family. May of 2018, Claire was diagnosed with brain caner and had emergency surgery for removal. Following her surgery the family temporarily moved from Utah to Seattle, Washington; for proton treatments. They then returned to Utah where they've been continuing chemo and radiation therapies. This is the short version of the long story of their hellacious roller coaster ride of cancer. This beast has caused unimaginable hardships for my sweet family. I know not what to do for them but outreach to you for further support. It breaks my heart to pieces knowing how hard all of this is on every one of them.

This January we were blessed with ecstatic news that her cancer has gone into remission.

"Do you believe in miracles?.........No one can make up a story like this......

Prayers work! Seattle has confirmed that everything we are seeing on Claire's MRI is NOT CANCER! You heard me. NOT CANCER! We are in tears. Overwhelmed with gratitude and support for everyones hope, prayers and support.

I was shocked to receive this call today. I asked if they were joking. Her oncologists here in SLC are also relieved. We dont ever want to have another conference like we did yesterday. It was so emotionally hard. But we knew the comfort and peace we are feeling was real!!!

You ask if we still trust and love her oncologist here. YES! We saw the MRI 2 times. It is super scary. They love and care for her too and wouldn't do anything to put her at risk.

We are reviewing a new maintenance chemo after we finish her last 2 rounds of high dose chemo. Tomorrow we start round 5!" -Beth Fullmer

Then last week Claire starting having hearing loss in her right ear. She was then admitted to the hospital for a respiratory infection.

"Relapsed.....speechless.

Her cancer has spread, causing her to be deaf in her right ear. We are anticipating seeing aditional disease in her spinal column. Her cancer is super aggressive and not responding to high dose chemo. We dont know what is going to happen next. All we know is this battle is getting harder and harder to fight and we don't have a lot of time to do so. Please keep Claire in your thoughts and prayers." -Beth Fullmer

Emotionally, mentally, financially, and physically this disease has been an unbelievable living nightmare, not fair, wrong, hard, crushing, taxing, trying, demanding, and all around brutal.

"Cancer Cliff Notes Roller Coaster Edition

Monday: audiology discovered deafness in right ear. Stopped high dose chemo.

Tuesday: brain MRI. Relapse.

Wednesday: spine MRI. Relapse. Started new chemotherapy protocol.

Thursday:day 2 chemo and the start of face and jaw pain. Dr confirmed brain stem and spinal column is NOT a relapse but artifacts and dead cells. (?)

Friday: day 3 chemo. Pain management. Released for outpatient chemo at 8 pm.

Saturday: day 4 chemo. Pain out of control. Unable to bear weight on legs. Admitted back into the hospital.

Sunday: day 5 chemo. Pain management...

Game plan

Finish chemotherapy doses. Her Pain and the ability to not walk is caused by swelling of the brain. The chemotherapy is causing her to swell. Unable to use steroids yet, because it negatively effects the chemo she is on.

Wed: finish last dose of chemo. Round 1 of 12 will be complete.

Thursday: lumbar puncture is scheduled. If her fluid comes back positive. We know its medulloblastoma. Seattle will then find out the protein structure of her cancer and find a chemo suited to her needs. She will also get chemo injected into her spinal fluid. If the lumbar puncture is negative. She will need surgery for a biopsy. Could Possible be a secondary cancer, possible inflammation and dead cells.

We need prayers that the Lord will help ease her pain. We pray that her LP is negative on thursday. Pray that this chemotherapy is working. Pray she holds her strength. Pray she can beat this.

She still has a lot of fight left." -Beth Fullmer

Todays report is frighteing yet we still hold to hope because of Claire. This little girl is a warrior and a true fighter. Any help is much appreciated.

In honor of Claire & your contributions Carl will be shaving his head once our goal is met. Updates to follow.

We love you Claire!
