HELP CARRIE BATTLE BREAST CANCER

Those who know Carrie Carpenter know that she loves animals, crocheting, crafts, AND she makes the best beef jerky in the world! She has done a lot to help others even when she hasn’t had a lot to give, like donating to the food shelf and the humane society, helping her partner through past surgeries, and spending every single night by her daughter’s side in the hospital for nearly a month while she healed from pneumonia and having part of her lung removed. Now it is Carrie who needs help!
In November 2016, Carrie was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 43. She has had 4 surgeries since then, missing 6 weeks of work between January and February and lots of time since then for the many doctor’s appointments and tests -- and she still has one more surgery to go. She started chemotherapy in April and has to miss a day of work every week for these infusions. Every trip for her appointments is around 76 miles round trip. She has no disability insurance and little-to-no paid leave time. While dealing with chemotherapy she is trying to make up her missed hours at work so she is not losing pay.
It has been difficult for Carrie and her family. The outlook is positive, but there is still more treatment to go. She has at least one more surgery to go after her chemotherapy is completed and medicine that must continue to be given by IV infusion until April 2018.
So while Carrie is battling this horrible disease, she shouldn’t have the worry about how she is going to pay her bills or put gas put in the tank for the next trip to the doctor’s office, chemotherapy appointment or medical test – not to mention to numerous additional expenses that are incurred during times of illness, like out-of-pocket medical expenses, medicines, and over-the-counter items. Whatever you can donate will be appreciated – no amount is too small.
