Help Cameron avoid spending his 20’s in prison

As many of you know Cameron found himself hooked on drugs and hanging around with the wrong crowd this past year. After a drug induced bender with some other local teens he now finds himself sitting and contemplating his actions in the local county jail. Since being incarcerated at the beginning of September of 2018 he has had a chance to sober up, earn his high school diploma, and participate in several drug rehab programs. Unfortunately for Cameron he has been paired with a less than motivated public defender to take on his case. Both Cameron’s mother and I have attempted to contact the aforementioned PD to find out what we can do to help his cause, but have had zero success. His court dates have been postponed many times and the D.A. appears hell bent on having him spend his twenties in prison and is pushing for 10 years with 2 felony strikes. I just recently took a plunge into the RN program at MJC and had to quit my job of 13 years to pursue a new career. My financial situation does not allow me to provide any financial assistance in finding and retaining a capable lawyer for Cam. I do feel that he should pay for his actions, but this is extreme! I am not one to ask for help, but I’ve seen this community do great things. So here I am asking that if Cameron has touched you in any way over the years that you would find it in your hearts to donate anything to help. I bet if you let him know that you contributed when he gets out that he’d come mow your lawn, take your grandma to church, or pick up your groceries for you.
