Help BWR Meet The Cost Of Caring

Please help us meet the costs of caring

Blyth Wildlife Rescue, also known as Northumbria Wildlife Rescue (reg. charity no 1146891) is a UK registered charity working for sick and injured animals in the North-east of England. The charity deals with over 1,500 queries every year and rescues around 500 animals per year from a whole variety of different situations.

During the Summer months, the charity's workload rockets as new and needy patients flood in from all corners of the county from members of the public and vets surgeries.  Calls can come in at any time of the day or night and it is a constant struggle to keep up and meet demand, especially with covering such a wide area where there are little or no other means of help.

As of 24th May 2017, the charity has spent £8,000, attended countless rescues and admitted over 100 new patients for treatment.

The relentless and tireless work and demands of running such an operation has its problems - it is very easy to amount large costs of caring in a very short space of time. The financial costs to the charity for providing such a service are far greater than what volunteers are able to being in via donations. Regular online appeals are run via Facebook and Twitter and we rely on the support of regular donors who are kind enough to set up regular donations online and via their bank.
Over the last month, our patient numbers and costs have increased greatly but unfortunately levels of cash donations have remained low, forcing us into a difficult funding situation.

We have created this online campaign to draw attention to the costs of our work and hope that our supporters, particularly anyone who has benefitted from our work this year, to donate towards our outstanding veterinary costs balance currently sitting at £750.

Unfortunately, if these costs are not met, the charity will be forced to reduce its work in the coming months as there will be little budgeted funds available after paying outstanding debts. The Summer months are our busiest period and we dread to think how many animals would suffer, be left without treatment or be needlessly put to sleep across our region.

Please support our new appeal today; donate online and share with your friends.

Thankyou
