Calling all cyclists, compassionate friends, and family. A Treasure Coast cycling community member needs our support, Bruce Lujan.
Days before getting married in February 2019, Bruce needed emergency care. He was diagnosed with a rather rare problem: aneurisms in both of his legs. He underwent bypass surgery on the left side, but major complications ensued and necessitated Bruce to be in and out of the hospital ever since. Healing has been problematic and complicated, including the necessity for negative- pressure wound therapy. To further exasperate this serious situation, he still has to complete the bypass surgery for the aneurysm on the right leg.
Bruce Lujan is an avid cyclist and a Master Bicycle Mechanic. He works at Sprockets Adventures as the head mechanic. Cyclists have been known to travel far and wide to seek his expert advice or have him work his magic on their bike. He can be described as a “walking, talking encyclopedia of bicycle knowledge” and his 25 years of mechanical skills are legendary.
Despite all the turmoil and medical happenstance, Bruce has been busy trying to create a new life with his beautiful bride, Remy. Together they share a strongly united and ever growing family on both sides. The love for his family and country is deep. Bruce also proudly served in the United States Navy in his younger years.
Most of us are familiar with the type of person he is: a humorous, warm, generous guy with an incredible sense of compassion for his fellow man. As talented as he is, you will not find a more humble person.
The Treasure Coast cycling community has a rich history of reaching out and taking care of others. Will you please help continue this tradition and give generously to help out a member of our family who is extremely deserving and desperately in need of our help?
