Help Britney Burke beat cancer!

Fewer than 5% of women in America are diagnosed with breast cancer before the age of 40. Unfortunately, my sister is one of these women. Just a few months ago Britney was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma at the age of 30. On August 6th, she moved forward with a double mastectomy, along with the removal of four of her lymph nodes.

Britney used to be a medical assistant/ phlebotomist in year’s past. She had so much joy putting smiles on patient’s faces going through similar battles to the one she now finds herself fighting.  Britney is still putting smiles on faces, except now  her audience consists primarily of family and friends showing empathy to her own battle. She’s been so strong during all of this , doing her best to ensure no one sheds a tear on her behalf. She’s always had a signature laugh, which is still present today.

She’s since moved back to Massachusetts from Rhode Island to stay with our parents, helping reduce her expenses as well as having her family nearby to support. She has a long road of recovery ahead; physically, emotionally, and financially.

Britney is not employed at the moment, so ensuring that she gets the treatment she needs when she needs it is, and will continue to be, expensive. She has additional surgeries scheduled. Any monetary donation helps. No donation too small. The outpouring support Britney has received since announcing her illness has been incredible.
