Help Brian Hughes with Expenses

Donation protected
This page is set up for a great friend to many of us, Brian Hughes of High Point, NC. As many of you know, Brian was born with Congestive Heart Failure and throughout his life has been closely monitored by medical professionals to manage his condition. He’s endured multiple surgeries to repair his damaged heart and just as many set-backs due to unforeseen complications.

During his last check-up, his doctor found fluid in his lungs prompting him to set an appointment with a cardiac specialist. The specialist found that Brian was in Atrial Fibrillation and, fearing a stroke could result, immediately admitted him to Wake Forest University Medical Center.Overnight, his condition worsened and he was placed into the Cardiac Care Unit. That following morning, a team of specialists concluded they would need to shock his heart out of AFib, a dangerous but necessary procedure.

Brian’s heart rate was sustained at 150+ bpm for several days, but with the treatment it returned to 80+ bpm, and Brian was eventually discharged with medicine that will hopefully keep his heart from going into AFib in the future.

Though Brian is doing better, both he and his heart are exhausted, and he must be out of work for at least a month when he’ll be checked again for any residual effects of this latest event.

One might think anyone with Congestive Heart Failure would take it easy, maybe walk on the safer side of life, but not Brian! He’s always looking for new adventures and friends to enjoy them with. He works tirelessly for his clients at his job with Vann York Honda Service. When he’s not working there, he’s helping friends, neighbors, friends of friends and his Honda Service customers by house and pet sitting for them. He’s never met an animal that didn’t trust and love him almost immediately!

Though Brian has been fortunate to have health insurance through his employer, the deductible is high, the cost of additional medicines required to regulate his heart rate for life are significantly more, and the time away from work has put him in a financial deficit that could take years to recover from, if ever.

We’re asking you to help out a good guy who pulled a short straw in health, but who maintains an optimism and presentness towards life like no other person I know.
