Help Big Red Bear get a home!!
BIG RED BEAR, THE FISTRAL FIELD DOG has been a part of Hutto for a very long time. Some say 6 years, others say 9... either way, Bear is a legend around here. The belief is that his former "parents" left him when they moved away and he made himself a home in the area he was left. It's rumored that he started off a little farther away than his current location, but for a while now he has been where he is in the field off of Fistral. He is very shy and skittish and won't let people get close to him. Many, many local residents have a huge soft spot for him in their hearts. One lady in particular, Irma, has been feeding Bear (who she calls "Lobo") for years, and she is the only one he trusts to get close enough to feed him and nurture him as best as she can. Past and present ACO's have tried to trap him but he is very wise... he even recognizes the ACO's truck now. Everyone drives by frequently to check on him, and post updates in a group on Facebook in his name.
The dreaded day has come that they are breaking ground to build in Bear's field. That means it's urgent that Bear is carefully removed from the field and fully vetted, and then placed with his foster in the loving home he deserves, that so many people have prayed for.
