Help Shoshana and baby Noa Grieve and Live

It is with deep sadness and absolute shock that we reach out to you with an urgent call for help and ongoing support on behalf of Shoshana and one year old baby Noa, as their husband and father passed away on January 25, 2019. This was sudden and unexpected and has left them in shock, with many months and years of grieving and healing ahead of them. Shoshana is nursing and has been home with Noa, leaving them currently with no income, and no insurance as their health insurance was provided through Andre’s job, so aside from the massive emotional trauma, their financial situation is also precarious. They need as much support as possible at this time and in the next few months.
Right now we ask that you do not reach out to Shoshana directly, and respect her need to share her story, if and when she is ready. This is a waking nightmare and she needs to be given time to process in whatever way makes sense to her and Noa. There will be many hard moments and this will take many forms.
Here is how you can help:
In the immediate, Shoshana needs to be able to cover living expenses for at least 6 months while grieving and figuring out a long term plan. This includes: rent, car, childcare, food, bills, etc. which will come out to $4,000/month. Shoshana’s job right now is to be a parent to Noa and to grieve. This is unbelievably traumatic and hard to manage.
In the long term we are looking for guidance, solutions and connection to help Shoshana to find work and have childcare for Noa that would allow for them both to have regular in-person connection and support.
Please do what you can to provide support for both Shoshana and Noa, who are still within an intense postpartum window. This is a critical time for support and healing and she is now facing a lot of hard decisions, and the reality of being a single parent.
