Alright here we go. Full update. Yesterday at 4 little man fell about 2ft to his head. I had no idea how severe it was and thought nothing of it. So we went on about our business and that night about 11 he woke up hysterical and couldn't get comfortable in bed, so I thought he was just feeling bad because he just got a cold. Well he got comfortable and went back to sleep. Then at 1 I woke up to check on him and he was having a seizure. I had no idea because it seemed like he was just having a bad dream, well we rushed him to the ER because I could not wake him up and he was stiff as a board. Mena ER did a head CT and found the bleed. They intubated him and called Children's. He was air lifted to Little Rock to Children's Hospital at about 3 or 4. We got to Children's and they explained to us better what was going on. He cracked his skull and busted a main artery which created the pooling of blood on his brain . They did surgery at about 6. They drilled a couple of holes in his head and drained the blood to release the pressure and then carterized the artery to stop the bleeding. The surgery went well. He has been stable all day. They have a vest on him to keep his body temp down so he doesn't get a fever. During the bleeding he had multiple siezures and a stroke. Right now he will stay intubated and sedated until they see fit to try to let him wake up. We won't know anything about how he will be until he does wake up. But we are going to take this day by day and take care of little man's needs for the time being. The good news is that he does respond to stimuli. When we talk to him or hold his hand he starts to move his feet and arms. Whenever they start messing with him then his VS start going wild which we don't want but it is a good sign that he is responding to us. I hope that I covered it all but we don't know much. Thank you for all the love, care, and support. 11/21/2018 Jax had seizures during the night. This a.m. they have put the shunt in to relieve the pressure build up. If that doesn’t work, then they will remove a section of the skull. Please continue to pray...all I have at the current time They just took out his Foley catheter because his urinary output is great. They are about to put a feeding tube in to get him some nutrition. They have started him on antiseizure medicine, and blood pressure medicine. Right now they are adding more monitoring pads on his scalp for better monitoring of brain activity. He is also on Ativan to keep him calm because he keeps getting agitated when they mess with him. 11/22/2018 Update on little man. Most of the day he has been without his blood pressure medicine and he has done good. As y'all know he hasn't had an issue with a fever, but was kinda chilly so they put a bear hugger on him to keep him warm. They just gave him one more dose of the epinephrine (blood pressure medicine) because it was low from him being cold. It is already increasing. He looks like he is sleeping so peacefully. 11/23/2018 Day 4 with little man:. He was stable over night and once again no more siesures. He is still having trouble emptying his bladder all the way so they are still using a straight Cath. This problem is probably because of all the medicine he is on at the moment. Little man had his first BM since this happened. So they didn't have to start miralax and they also we're able to up his formula to 10ml an hour. Never thought I would be happier to see a poopy diaper. (Little man Has some pretty foul poops) They are having some troubles with his body temperature. He gets too hot then too cold but they are taking care of him. Big sis got to see little man and brought him a Batman pillow. Lily did very well with seeing her bubba. They also put him on paralytics because his extremities are so cold so he is shivering. They don't want him shivering because it increases intercrainal pressure and we don't want that. His pressure went up because of the shivering but went back down after they gave him the anti paralytics. We finally got accepted into the Ronald McDonald house. Any new updates we will let y'all know. 11/24/2018 Update day 5:. Little man had a couple seisures during the night, and several this morning. They did report he hasn't had one since 9:30. An increase in his Ativan for seisures. They did have to start the norepi again for his blood pressure because it was getting kinda low. He is peeing on his own now without getting cathed and BMs on the regular. Occasionally his pulse and pressure in his skull shoots up but comes right back down. They are still having to keep his temp cool. His right pupil reacts but his left pupil still is not reacting. He did open his right eye early this morning when the doctors started messing with him. Our little man is still in critical condition. He is still pretty puffy all over but he is on lasix. We have had several people ask how they can help us. Children's does provide us with food, and the Ronald McDonald house provides a roof over our heads; but we do have bills, gas, still need clothes, and we have not even began to buy our little girl or little man Christmas or birthday presents.
