Help My Aunt Nancy Clark Beat ALS

My aunt Nance was recently diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease).  I'll get the clinical part out of the way first: it's a very rare disease with no clearly known causes, and no known cures. While your mind stays sharp, you begin to lose your ability to walk, talk, and ultimately breathe as your cells and muscles degrade. 

But Aunt Nance is a fighter, and that's why we need your help.  She was recently approved to receive stem cell treatment in South Korea. It’s a groundbreaking scientific advancement that has been proven to slow the onset of the disease’s worst symptoms, and in some cases, slightly reverse them. 

This could help prolong and improve her life while also advancing the science that will one day end this devastating disease. 

Most people diagnosed with ALS give up.  Not Aunt Nance.  If you want to see what a fighter looks like, Aunt Nance has already successfully beaten the odds against Multiple Sclerosis (MS) for decades now, staying active, going to the gym, eating well, and refusing to give in.  ALS on top of MS is a truly rare combination.  Incredibly, she refuses to give up, and refuses to accept that she's out of options.

Her whole life, she has done nothing but give. She is like a second mom to my sister and me, and she anonymously took care of people in need. Even if she didn't always have enough for herself, she always gave generously. Her whole life.  As one example, our Christmas tradition with Aunt Nance was "helping" her (she did all the work) bake 20+ pies each year for the Rescue Mission...for people who had nothing over the holidays.

I'm hoping to give back to her just this one time and help her get stem cell treatment in South Korea, where they've had more success than anywhere with ALS treatments.
