Help Ashley Gain Her Wings

Donation protected

My family needs a lot of prayers and support during this very difficult time.
In January 2017 our family was given the devastating news that Ashley was in the final stages of congestive heart failure, that just left us heartbroken

Story:
When Ashley was born she was rushed to Sick Kids Hospital by ambulance where she was diagnosed with a rare heart condition Transposition of the Great Arteries and 13 other health issues. Ashley had her very first surgery at only a day old. Ashley has had to endure numerous open heart surgeries and medical procedures which she spent recovery time in hospital with her mom by her side. At nine years old she had an aneurism in her heart attached to her sternum which required another life threatening surgery. She has fought a tough battle her entire life and although becoming weaker day by day she continues to thrive!

In 2015 Ashley had a car accident where she broke her femur and laid in hospital for days before she could be operated on by a team of doctors due to complexity of her heart. She fought against the odds again.

The last few months her heart condition has been rapidly deteriorating, She is now confined to a bed and is in palliative care.

Unfortunately Ashley is not a candidate for a heart transplant as her heart is far too weak, The doctors at Sick Kids and Toronto General have done everything that was humanly possible to help Ashley's unique heart, and we are eternally grateful for them because with out their smarts and quick thinking Ashley wouldn't be here today, they gave her the gift of a longer life and gave us the gift of memories we perhaps wouldn't have had.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as our previous expenses are piling up and we as her family can only help so much, Ashley is living in palliative care at home being cared for by her family. She will be moving into a hospice where she will be with her family by her side.

For the time being she spends her days at home in bed, she tries to enjoy what life she has left by spending time with family and scrap booking, although even sitting up is difficult for her.

Ashley has to have her oxygen on at all times, her health has lead to her oxygen level on her machine has been turned up and now she must stay home because going out is dangerous now.

She has nurses coming and going 24/7 and is in hospice care.

Hospice does not nor will help with the funds of burial and anything else regarding funerals hence why we are asking for help, as we do not have enough.

We the family are grateful for any support, love Ashley's family
