Arun Kumar Harikrishnan passed away on 9/4/2019 around 9PM IST. He gave a good battle against the dangerous cancer, he went through two full course of Chemotherapy.
Arun was the sole breadwinner for his family and lost most of his money & assets to his cancer treatment. He is survived by his wife Sangeetha, 4-year-old son Yathin. Their hope for the future came to a halt due to the demise of their beloved.
Hence we are updating the same campaign (that we used to for Arun's medical expense) to raise funds that will help his son's education & his family's future. The funds collected hereafter will be sent to Arun's wife - Sangeetha to support her family & Son's education.

Arun Kumar Harikrishnan lives with his wife Sangeetha, 4-year-old son Yathin & his mother and is been diagnosed with Cancer (Acute Lymphoblastic Lymphoma). He was first diagnosed with the disease in Jan 2018 and went through 8 cycles of intrathecal and 4 cycles of HYPERCVAD Chemotherapy & other treatments in Omaha, United States. His final PET/CT scan showed clearance of the cancer cells in October 2018 and due to his VISA rejection, he had to return to India in November 2018. Post his return, Arun slowly recovered from the aftermath of Chemotherapy and started to live the normal life of office goers in Chennai, India.
However, couple of weeks back, Arun witnessed a swelling near his chest which rapidly increased in size and caused him lot of discomfort and pain. Upon on consulting an oncologist, it was revealed that his cancer had Relapsed.
Arun with his current condition is unable to attend Office and has opted for medical leave to cure his ailment on loss of pay (LOP). Being the sole earning member of his family, Arun has to take care most of his medical expense all by himself as he has no one to support at this tough juncture. Even the insurance cover that Arun has through his employer in India, will cover only a portion of the treatment and the rest needs to be borne by him/his family, which is lacking a good support system.
Earlier the insurance that Arun had at the United States helped him to a great extent to take care of expenses for this first treatment, but now that his condition has relapsed, he is finding it difficult to even get started with the treatment. As getting the right treatment on time is extremely crucial to cure the ailment, crowdfunding is the best resort that Arun has. We request your support to help him in his treatment with your kind donations as this would help Arun’s family to recover back along with Arun.
We are putting together this Go Fund Me account to:
1. Help Arun for his Cancer Treatment & Surgery expenses.
Given below is the breakdown of his treatment expenses, the total for the Surgery and treatment is expected to be around 1 Crore in Indian Rupees (140,000 USD).
a. Chemo medicine Nelarabine – Medicine for T – Acute Lymphoblastic Lymphoma – costs about 20 lakhs (Needs to be imported from Europe)
b. Hospitalization for 1-month period while administering Chemo (Apollo) – Costs about 20 lakhs approx.
c. Bone Marrow Transplantation – Allogenic – Costs about 50 lakhs approx.
d. Maintenance Followed by hospitalization without salary – Costs about 10 lakhs approx
2. Support Arun & his family with the recovery after treatment:
Cancer treatments leave long term side effects to the body and returning to normal life is very tough, so money that you donate would be used to would help Arun & his family to pay for the months of rehab to overcome the surgery, support for living expenses and school fees for his kid and possibly more surgery if it grows back in the coming years.
Arun has also started to use up all his savings to start his treatment at the earliest and yet with the skyrocketing cost of the medication, he is falling short by a huge difference to cover the overall expense.
