Help Arek Recover from an Accident

If you know my cousin Arek, you know he’s hard-working and truly dedicated to his construction and remodeling work and his healthy lifestyle. For some time now, he’s led a life devoid of anything not beneficial to his body and mind. His passion for everything is admirable. His occupation as a builder and carpenter relies on the strength of his body. Unfortunately, his life turned upside down this summer. At the end of August, Arek had a freak accident while working on one of his projects – he severed his left hand on a miter saw.
At the time of the accident, he was alone. Luckily, he did not lose consciousness and still had the mind to run next door for help. He was rushed to a hospital, then transferred to another one where he had emergency surgery to reconnect his limb. During the procedure, some of his bones were removed and replaced with plates and bolts. Many nerves were damaged and tendons destroyed, but the surgeons did their best to preserve his hand. However, his hand is now disabled and disfigured: he no longer has a wrist, he can’t make a fist, and he cannot move his fingers -- any feeling in his hand is gone.
Arek’s insurance only covered the emergency surgery. Workman's Compensation insurance denied his claims. His road to recovery will be very long. He now needs to go to physical therapy a minimum of 5 days a week for at least one full year. He will also require additional surgeries, including a stem cell injection. His insurance will not cover these medical expenses.
All the costs of recovery are coming out of his own pocket. He lost his source of income when he lost his hand. Arek was self-employed and earned a living working physically. Now even the smallest task is a big challenge.
Please help Arek get the assistance he needs to cover his growing medical expenses. His road to recovery is long and difficult, but we know his stubborn spirit will help him through this very tough time. He is very grateful for any amount you can contribute.
