Help Animals in Northern BC

BC Spay & Neuter Outreach Society is working to offer accessible spay, neuter, vaccination, and parasite control services August 13-17, 2018 in northern BC, and you can help! Dr. Kim Hunter, of Vet to Pet Clinic from Smithers, BC, will be providing these surgeries on site with her mobile veterinary clinic.
BC Spay & Neuter Outreach Society is incorporated in the province of BC (S0069525); all funds from this campaign will go towards operational costs of our August spay & neuter clinic.
One unaltered female dog and her offspring can produce 67,000 puppies in six years. In seven years, one female cat and her offspring can produce 370,000 kittens! Your donation is truly is a gift that keeps giving- the cost of just one spay operation of will save 67,000 unwanted puppies over six years. Any amount helps, and we thank you for giving what you can.
Many communities around British Columbia face barriers to accessing veterinary care. Due to geography and finances, many animals are left unaltered and the population grows beyond the ability of people to care for them. People love their pets, but without the means, the dogs and cats suffer unwanted litters with puppies and kittens dying in the cold. As a result, animal welfare declines. Many people in northern communities lack the ability to travel with their pets to the nearest veterinary care, which is typically a great distance away. Additionally, free-roaming dogs pose a risk to the safety of humans, often forming packs and exhibiting aggression towards children and livestock. There are also diseases that can transfer to humans. Your donation will help the animals, and keep the children and community members safe.
Not able to contribute financially, but want to help? We need volunteers! Please reach out if you are a veterinarian, technician, or tech student that wants to help, a rescue organization that wants to help place surrendered animals, or if you are a member of the public able to help transport animals to nearby clinics.
