Help and Save Raphael's Heart

Raphael is my 9 months old baby boy born prematurely (30-31 weeks old) last April 14, 2018 with a Congenital Heart Disease called Tetralogy of Fallot, his heart has four (4) defects. Due to in denial stage, we already visited three (3) Pediatric Cardiologist and get the same diagnosis. There's no other way out for his survival but thru an open heart surgery. We were adviced to have the operation as early as MAY 2019 this year, when he turns one (1) year old. 

I'm knocking to your generous heart to appeal for help for my one and only son's operation. Me and my husband are financially incapable of the medical expenses because we were already buried in debt since the day I gave birth to him because Raphael stayed in the Neonatal ICU for more than a month. 

No medicines given just in case Tet Spells attack but we do have HOLY WATER for his maintenance. We just have to put and rub it on his head, hands, feet and most especially, on his chest (putting it in a sign of a CROSS).

I'm desperate to look for help to save my son. Desperate that ME AND MY HUSBAND USED TO PUMP HIS AMBU BAG FOR  21 HOURS non-stop when he was intubated last May because he was already 50/50. His lungs stops to function and the only thing that's left was his pulse. Our hospital in our place is lacking facilities and understaff that even nurses can't give enough care for my son until his body was deteriorating that's why we have to do it on our own. Raphael graduated the critical stage during his NICU days.

We visited the government office of PhilHealth and inquire regarding their "Package Z" where TOF is included on the top 3 heart diseases that they can actually provide financial assistance. But one of the qualification for us to avail the said package, the child MUST NOT HAVE ANOTHER CONGENITAL ANOMALYS. Raphael has a suspected Congenital Hypothyroidism because i have a thyroid disease during my preganancy with him. Therefore, we can't avail the said package even a cent. Though he was treated when they found out his TSH was quite high, according to his Neonat, its not a guarantee yet if his "free" with the said CH. 

In terms of insurance, they confirmed last April 2018 that they will NOT cover any expenses incurred if its a congenital case. 

Our salary of my husband won't actually get/raise for now the amount that we needed because we urgently filed for a loan when I was rushed to the hospital back then. And to be able to sustain the daily expenses to the private nurses hourly (because the hospital where Rafa was confined, is understaff), we also borrowed money to people who were willing to help. We are really buried in debt till now. 

And also, I appeal for help thru facebook last October 2018 because I was hopeful it'll lead me to organizations/foundations who can hopefully help us with our concern. Just recently, January 3 2019, the foundation we applied confirmed that they didn't approved our application.

As a mother, I believe Raphael wants to stay with us. The feeling is mutual but I feel more than that. Such a strong and brave boy that really deserves to live.
