Help Amy-Claire Go On Adventures!

Donation protected

Hi! I’m Amy-claire, a 25 year old palliative care patient who’s been under Paliative and hospice care since I was 10, but is still miraculously alive and kicking today! I have a degenerative disease that means I’m unable to work, and live in a nursing care home. I suffer constant chronic pain, dozens of life threatening spasms and seizures a day, and a slew of other unpleasant and dangerous symptoms daily.
I receive very little in the way of money and benefits, and am therefore asking you lovely people for some help to fund my adventures and dreams! Last year you helped me raise money for my holidays (some of which is still stashed away ready for a holiday I couldn’t make last year, but am hoping to make this year), and now I’m doing some more general fundraising to help with a variety of adventures, including holidays, day trips, concerts, and the very specific dream of owning a garden swing seat.

I’m looking for a generous person to make a donation! For those who don’t know, my name is Amy-Claire, and I’m a palliative care 25 year old who lives in an independent living care home with 24/7 nursing care. My illness is complex, degenerative, causes constant pain and suffering, and is life threatening on a regular basis. I made a documentary called The Incurable Optimist with the BBC last year (that won a BAFTA!).
I’ve lived in my care home for about 6 years now, and I love it. It enables me to be both as safe and as independent as possible. But it’s pretty difficult for most people to understand that I don’t actually really have a choice about living here; my parents are both chronically ill (my mum also has a life limiting, life threatening illness) and can’t look after me at home (we manage respite break when we’re all well and with support from extended family and friends), and the appropriate care I need cannot be provided in any existing community setting, at least not right now. Now that I’m getting older, I can find it difficult dealing with the reality that rn it’s not possible for me to have my own little flat or bungalow.
A few weeks ago I mentioned that I dreamed of one day owning a swing seat like this. I’d have it in my garden, right by my door, so I could sit outside in the morning and drink my cuppa. I’d watch the sunrise, or the sunset, and enjoy a bit of peace at the start and end of my day.
Well, as both my mum and my psychologist have pointed out, there is literally nothing stopping me from doing this where I live now!
Hence, I’m asking you good people if anyone is getting rid of a seat like this, would like to donate one, or even knows of a very cheap one I could potentially purchase?
My time is precious, and I will do everything I can to fill my days (which hold a shit load of pain) with as much joy as possible; this may seem like a small and silly dream to many of you, but it would genuinely make me very happy !
Like any good working class girl, I’m really not keen on asking for money, but I need some help to cross some stuff off my List Of Things To Do Before I Kick The Bucket!

Please feel free to browse the photos of me and the wonderful people I’adventure with. I think they express just how much joy these adventures bring me
I’d you’d like to know more about me, look up the documentary The Incurable Optimist! I have a tumblr under the same name, and am on twitter and Instagram under Amy-claire Davies.
Thank you!
