Help AICF buy a New Mammography Van to provide women in need with no-cost breast cancer screenings.
Who We Are
The American-Italian Cancer Foundation (AICF) is a non-profit organization that operates a Mammography Van where over 4,800 medically underserved women are provided with no-cost breast cancer screening services every year.
What We Do
For 30 years, we have traveled the 5 boroughs of NYC, 5 days a week, 12 months a year, screening uninsured and underinsured women. On our Mammography Van we offer mammograms, clinical breast exams and breast health education at no-cost!
More than 40,000 women died from breast cancer in 2017 in the US. Early detection is the key to survival. When breast cancer is diagnosed early, the survival rate is over 90%. The women we serve have limited resources and for many our Mammography Van is their only screening option.
What We Need
In order for us to continue our lifesaving work, we need to replace our current Mammography Van, which is 12 years old, has completely depreciated, and is experiencing mechanical breakdowns that are interfering with our work.
How Much We Need
The cost of a new vehicle is $350,000. AICF already raised $250,000 but still needs $100,000 to complete the project.
The purchase of a new Mammography Van will expand the scope of our Program to serve 5,000 women per year in the first 12 months of services. We anticipate an increase of 100 patients each year after, until we reach our capacity of 6,000 women per year.
Please donate and help AICF purchase a new Mammography Van. Your investment in early detection today will save lives tomorrow.
Thank you for your generosity!
