Help Adam go fast again ~Ricky Bobby

On August 2nd Adam (41 years old) was out playing on his side by side. A lot of people know from watching Adam race his sprint car up at Skagit Speedway that Adam has a “need for speed.” However, on this day he really wasn’t driving fast. He was crawling up and over dirt piles, spinning the occasional brodie and simply playing around out in the pasture. In a freak accident, Adam went up a dirt pile and when he came down, he landed hard on the front drivers side causing the ATV to stop abruptly and land on its side.

Adam’s daughter Isabelle witnessed the roll over and rushed out to help her dad push the side by side back over. When she got to him she realized he was still buckled in and had lost consciousness. She immediately called for help and Adam was rushed to the ER by the quick responding Everett Fire Department.

As a result from this accident, Adam has suffered a traumatic brain injury. He has 2 small bleeds on his brain and a few diffuse axonal injuries (an injury caused by pulling, stretching or tearing). Adam has required constant care from a team of doctors and nurses in addition to his family.

Adam spent 5 days in the ICU undergoing a battery of tests and treatments. His wife Brigina and his identical twin brother Rick have been by his side constantly. His daughter Isabelle along with the rest of Adams family have been a consistent source of love and support for Adam, never leaving him alone for even a moment.

Adam and Brigina have been married for 20 years. They are both so proud of their 16 year old daughter Isabelle and have always strived to live an active lifestyle together as a family. We are confident that the love they share as a family will pull them through these very trying times.

Sadly, Adam is only beginning this very long road to recovery. Adam has been moved to a medical floor specializing in brain injuries and will remain there until he is able to eat on his own. Once that happens (no estimated time as brain injuries are simply too hard to predict) Adam will be moved to a rehabilitation facility to continue his healing process.

All of this goes without saying, but this is going to be very expensive. Financially crippling in fact. Adam will be unable to work for an undetermined amount of time and Brigina will be his primary care giver.

The money from this campaign will be used to help cover medical costs.

Please if you could find it in your heart to help this amazing man and his beautiful family, we would be eternally grateful. In the meantime, please continue to pray for Adam and that he makes a full recovery. Also, please respect the families privacy during these first weeks as this is a very difficult time.

Thank you.
