Help a Young Family Fight Cancer
Donation protected
Early last spring, my brother David and his wife Abby received a diagnosis that we all feared. David had Stage 4 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Over the course of the last 8 months he completed the first line treatment (ABVD chemo protocol). He tolerated the chemo amazingly well and hardly missed even a single day of work as he scheduled all chemo and testing for afternoons after work. This treatment completely cures around 85% of patients, so we were all hopeful when things seemed like they were going well in September.
Unfortunately, although the ABVD worked quite well and eliminated most cancerous masses, it was unable to completely eliminate all spots. A couple persistent lung masses will require a far more rigorous and challenging regiment (ICE chemo protocol) and will require a bone marrow transplant with several weeks in-patient in Boston. David's oncologist calls this course the "atomic bomb of chemo".
David will have to miss several months from his job with this next course of treatment. He is the sole provider for his family as Abby stays home with their adorable little guy Henry. It's definitely not easy for them to admit they could use some help, but David and Abby (and Henry too!) will truly appreciate any support and prayers for sure.
Any funds raised will go directly to David to help make up for lost wages and costs related to beating his cancer.
