Help A Trans WOC Escape Jordan & Rebuild Her Life

A second year student at the University of Waterloo, and our dear friend, is in trouble. She's been subject to physical, and emotional abuse at the hands of her own family. She is a trans women of colour who has recently started to celebrate her identity, unfortunately when she went home to visit family in Jordan she was outed by a member of her family. Her family has since threatened her life, been physically and emotionally abusive including shaving her head, sending her to a conversion therapy camp, and violence that led to hospitalization. The medical treatment alone is something she would need to access in Canada.
What makes this situation more difficult is that her parents destroyed all of her belongings including credit cards, passports, SIN card, birth certificate, and all of her belongings. They have also cut her off financially leaving her with little to no resources. With no money, no passport, and no clothing she found refuge with a trusted friend and has been in contact with the Canadian Embassy to help get her travel document so she is able to return safely to Canada.
We have been in recent contact with Members of Parliament and Ministers to expedite her travel documents however, we have been recently updated that the police are after her and are trying to kill her. This is an immediate threat to her life so we are trying to send money to help her buy bus tickets, hotel rooms, food and a plane ticket.
Once we are able to get her back to Canada she will have no resources so we are trying to fundraise enough to pay for rent, food, and other necessities. Hopefully this will help her to get back on her feel and spend time taking care of herself.

Update: Thank you so much to everyone who has donated so far. It is truly incredible to see such an outpour of support from friends and strangers. We want to give a big thank you to the community of Waterloo for coming together to support our friend by offering up space in their homes, food from their fridge, and clothing for our friend in need. Every donation that has been made so far is making a huge difference and I can’t stress enough that every amount makes a difference. A majority of our donations have been between $10-$20 and it truly does add up.
Now our friend has returned home we are working on rebuilding her life here. As a community we have collectively bought plane tickets, personal hygiene products, clothing, shoes, and have even begun reaching out to businesses in the Kitchener and Waterloo area for gift cards and/or donations. Buying all of these products at once adds up a lot more than we expected which has led us to increase our campaign goal from $10,000 to $15,000. We want to ensure that we can cover necessities for the first 6 months or more so that she can have time to heal before returning to work. Another expense that we need to cover is tuition and counselling. We will be applying for financial aid but we can’t bet on it being fully covered. We also want to ensure that she will have access to weekly counselling appointments with someone specialized in LGBTQ+ care and trauma.
