People in animal rescue shouldn't get cancer. Pate (pronounced "patty") shouldn't have cancer...but yet she's battling.
It wasn't enough that she has spent the last 10 years and literally every minute of her time saving the lives of exceptionally fragile animals like bottle baby puppies and kittens, diabetic animals, cleft palate dogs and of course, ones with no eyes, like her loving companion, Ali the wonder dog...
The girl hasn't gotten sleep in a decade because she's tending to these animals, her family, the foster families, animal emergencies and more. When I am sound asleep and can't wake up, she's still rescuing...
And now that cancer has struck her, she's STILL RESCUING.
Pate has done more good- even with cancer- than many people do in a lifetime!? She doesn't mess around...
But sometimes her body won't cooperate... and "the usual" for most cancer patients isn't HER usual- she's had a lot of complications and setbacks. She's had an extremely rough ride so far and her treatment has really just begun...she has a long road ahead still.
This is where you can help- help support her nutritional needs (and veg/ vegan, lactose-free diet) as well as with support for housekeeping care and other necessities Pate can no longer manage for her family...
Pate is no longer able to commit to bringing her school-age daughter to her school functions- and she can barely keep up with her own animals. Even with the help of her young adult son, there is still so much to do.
There is a "meal train" cooking team who are helping make meals for her- and a local cleaning company who is going to go the distance for her at the best rate. You can help alleviate those burdens so that besides fighting cancer, Pate can keep her eye on the animals in need.
Even if she can't have them in her home, she will rally to make sure others can help pick up the slack in her life-saving mission!
