Help a NASA intern attend IROS 2018

Hi there! I’m Sourish, a senior undergraduate student from India. Last year I got an amazing opportunity to work at the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory as a summer intern. I worked on advanced autonomous navigation for future Mars rovers. My work got accepted as a conference paper publication at IROS 2018, one of the top tier conferences on robotics. The conference is being held at Madrid, Spain from October 1-5, 2018.
However, I’m unable to find any funding sources to support me to attend the conference. My college, unfortunately, doesn’t provide funding for students to attend conferences if the work is done outside the institute. And the paperwork involved in getting funding from JPL is too involved for a non-US citizen who does not have current official affiliation and won’t be completed in time.
This work is important for autonomous safe navigation of future Mars rovers to do science on Mars.
Coming from a developing country, it is not possible for me to entirely self-fund this trip to Spain. Thus it is my sincere request to help me raise enough money to attend the conference and present my work to the robotics community.

A note from my former NASA mentor:
I worked with Sourish Ghosh last summer to create a new autonomy algorithm, which would help future planetary rover to be safer, more efficient, and more intelligent. Sourish is a very talented man with outstanding mathematical and programming skills. He has a big dream. He is very nice. But most importantly, he is very, very hardworking. He knows that working hard is the only way to make the big dream come true. If he were born in wealthy countries, his success would have been almost surely guaranteed. Unfortunately, he wasn’t.
The conference to which his paper was accepted, IROS, is a top-tier conference in robotics. It is not easy at all to get a paper accepted even for matured researchers. In fact, the paper that I wrote with two other NASA researchers was rejected this year. Furthermore, I cannot overemphasize the value of attending the conference for a young researcher such as Sourish. That is the place where you can meet the world’s top researchers and grab opportunities. If he cannot attend the conference merely because of the lack of fund, the opportunity loss would be significant. Please join me to support the dream of this young talent and give him a chance of success.

この研究は未来の火星ローバーが火星で自律的かつ安全に科学的探 査を行うために非常に重要です。
発展途上国にいる私のような者にとって、 スペインまでの旅費を自費で工面することは不可能です。 私が学会に参加し、 私の研究をロボット工学コミュニティーに発表するため、 どうか皆様のお力添えをくださいませ。
