Help a local Nurse’s Aide & her family

As most of you know Jodele is a caring, strong person who would do anything for anyone at a moment’s notice. Jodele has worked as a Certified Nurses Aide for almost 20 years at Maine General Medical Center. She has a 12-year-old son named Hunter with her husband, Kevin of 12 years. He was first diagnosed with brain cancer two months after they married, in 2004. The first brain biopsy he had was done incorrectly and the type of tumor that was growing was never determined. It has been assumed that he had an Astrocytoma grade II. After chemo and radiation, Kevin has been in remission for brain cancer for 10 years. On January 30th, 2017 a routine scan showed that Kevin’s brain cancer was back. He has a tumor about the size of a golf ball and it is more aggressive this time. The doctors are doing testing and working on finding a course of action right now to best attack this tumor. So far, we know that he will need to have chemotherapy and radiation. Jodele works extremely hard full time to be the main support for her family, while being a full-time nursing student. Because of treatments and testing Kevin needs done, it requires a lot of travelling to Boston. Jodele has had to use all of her earn time and must pay for medical and travel expenses, as well as hotel rooms to stay down there, all while unable to pick up the work shifts she needs. On top of this, the one car Jodele and her family have, was recently in the shop and still needs some work done to be used to travel. Since this is an expensive fix, Jodele and her family have been forced to rent a car every week when they travel to Kevin’s many appointments. They just recently stayed for 5 days in Boston where Kevin had a brain biopsy that was more invasive than before. Jodele has been a part of the healthcare community for so long and helps all the patients and families she can. Please help in any way you can to lessen the load for this beautiful family and take care of Jodele for once. Even sending thoughts and prayers this family’s way would help. This family would never ask for anything and deserves the very best care, please donate anything you can and help them get through this difficult time easier. Let them focus on Kevin’s health rather than the stress of finances. Thank you for your time.
