TL: DR: Sheila-pup has a large growth on her kidney, removable by surgery.
I took my beloved dog Sheila to her vet when she was woofing me awake several times a night to go out; X ray revealed....something, a large growth pressing against her bladder. Specialist consult and ultrasound revealed a large outgrowth of her left kidney, possibly benign, possibly an early sign of hemangiosarcoma, but all other tests look clean. The growth is full of fluid, making a biopsy inadvisable: better to just take the sucker out. It's very difficult to ask people for money for a dog, since so many people need this website to stay alive, but I love her very much and I need to try. My CareCredit card has a max of $2500, of which $1347 is left after the two vet visits so far. With the low end estimate for the surgery of $4642, that leaves me hoping to raise $3295 for her care. If it becomes apparent that no such amount can be raised, I will refund donations. But if I can get within striking distance, this will go forward.
