Crash, as he is affectionately being called, was hit by a car on the highway. He has 2 broken legs - the left rear leg is especially bad - and needs orthopedic surgery. I picked him up when I was driving home a few nights ago because I saw him lying on the shoulder of the highway. He couldn't walk, so I carried him to my car and incredibly, he didn't resist me at all - he was only calm, docile, and very sweet. I then drove him to the emergency vet clinic where he was treated overnight. Not knowing what to do next, I called my friend, who enlisted the help of the Animal Resource Center of Dayton. The ARC was kind enough to take him, however, they need help covering the cost of his surgery and rehabilitation. Please donate whatever you can to this sweet dog. We believe that he is no more than a year old, and will make a wonderful pet for someone. All donations will go to the Animal Resource Center of Dayton, OH. Thank you.

Hello everyone - I can't thank you enough for your contributions. Crash has received the surgery he needed and is recovering nicely. While it seems like most of his medical bills have been covered, I would love to be able to give the entire $6000 to the Animal Resource Center. Again, all donations will go to their Tiny Tim fund which is used to help cases just like Crash. If you would consider giving just a little more, I know they would be thrilled. Thank you again.

Crash update: He's been resting and recovering from his surgery at the Montgomery County Animal Resource Center. I saw him last Saturday, and, though he had to stay in his cage, he looked really good and seems to definitely be on the road to recovery! I can't thank you enough for your generous donations and for sharing this story. You all inspire me!

Crash is back at the Animal Resource Center as of early Saturday morning. He is on strict cage rest for two weeks while he heals from the surgery. We were going to post a picture or two but he is very self conscious about his "radar tracking cone" he has to wear to keep him away from his sutures. Once he makes it through the next two weeks, he will be ready to go to a foster or permanent home to finish his recovery. Thanks to everyone who as donated towards his future and to TCVH for doing such a wonderful job on the leg.

We received word from TCVH that Crash came through surgery like a champ and his prognosis is very good. The doctors were able to save his leg so it looks like he will be running around on all FOUR legs in the future. Crash will come back to the Animal Resource Center on Saturday to continue his recovery. Thanks to everyone who has helped cheer this champ on!

Crash will be visiting Tipp City Veterinary Hospital on Friday 2/1/13 for his medical evaluation. The veterinarians at TCVH have helped other animals at the Animal Resource Center and are optimistic that Crash will be able to benefit from their care. We will keep everyone posted on his progress!

Glad to help out. When you think about it, you realize this could happen to our own beloved pets. It's nice to know there are people who will go out of their way to help a lost or injured animal.
