Sandy Storm's novel "Hello Navi"

Domestic Minor Sex Trafficking is happening right now, in your neighborhood.  As you read this, near your home, place of business, church, school - local children are being sold for sex through pornography, prostitution and exploitation.  These children's lives are being altered forever and, apart from a divine intervention, there is a chance they will lose all hope and be trapped in a life of drug addiction, prostitution and despair, or even worse - end up dead at the hands of a pimp, a john or a drug overdose.

This is why we are gathering funds to assist in the publishing and distribution of a novel written by a sex trafficking survivor.  The story is based on true events and shares a strong message of hope and healing found only in a relationship with Jesus Christ.   It was written to give a picture of the harsh reality of the underground world of trafficking intersected with the deep love of God that will stop at nothing to redeem someone who has been discarded by society.  This book will be a great tool in educating the general public about what trafficking really looks like and will both raise awareness about this atrocity, as well as inspire readers to get engaged and actively use their God-given abilities in the fight to end modern day slavery.

Our goal is to raise $5500 to help offset the costs of publishing, which include insurance, editing, art and printing copies for the author to have on-hand to distribute to other survivors and people who work in the anti-trafficking arena.

Once printed, proceeds from book sales will go to Corpus Christi's Rock City Church  and New Life Refuge Ministries .  Both of these 501c-3 charity organizations are daily doing the front-line work to raise awareness, fight trafficking and serve survivors.

Written by a Survivor, Based on Actual Events
By: Sandy Storm

Hello Navi is a novel about human trafficking told both in the physical and spirit realms. The story follows Navi, a young lady who faces demons of childhood sexual abuse that are driving her to drug use and led her into a situation that placed her under the control of an abusive pimp.  All the while, a mysterious man who is pursuing her takes the girl from the harsh reality of sex trafficking to a wonderful place of love and acceptance in a spiritual world where Navi learns her true identity and experiences true love and ultimately, finds freedom.

Hello Navi is a message of hope for anyone who has experienced abuse, addiction, rape, or thinks God was distant when they were in a dark place.

Author Sandy Storm is a sex trafficking survivor who has experienced a powerful transformation and now lives what can only be described as a brand new life.  She now thrives in her relationships, in business and in ministry and she takes every opportunity to connect people with the source of her healing and restoration, Jesus Christ.

Here is an exceprt from the book, taken from Chapter 2, "RUN!":

She decided to cross the parking lot of the little convenience store and make her way to the brick and concrete apartments where she was determined to find a way to get her fix. Just as Navi stepped out into the oil-stained lot a dark red Cadillac pulled right in front of her and stopped, separating her from the brick buildings she was headed for. The passenger window lowered and she could instantly smell the unmistakable odor of pot smoke coming from a skunk weed blunt.

She saw through the smoke a dark skinned man dressed in a silky purple shirt with a fedora hat perched on his forehead sitting in the leather driver’s seat with his left hand dangling across the steering wheel. “You don’t wanna go over thar little gurrl,” he said to her, his words coming out slowly with a thick southern drawl. “Them boys’ll eat you up gurrl, you aint but a small little thing walkin out hurr all bare-footed. Get in mah cadillac car and I’ll take you down the road a piece and get you all cleaned up gurrl, walking ‘round hurr all dirty and messed up.”

Navi stared at the man plain-faced. She didn’t want to be walking through here all dirty and bare-footed. She started to realize the absurdity of walking into those apartments, hoping to find a friendly junkie to share their dope with her or perhaps a kind stranger who would give her some money to score something with. Maybe one of the thoughtful dealers would take pity on her and donate some dope to her worthy cause. She knew all of these scenarios were nonsense and she really didn’t seem to have many options.

“What’s wrong baby gurrl, can’t you speak?” the sharp-dressed man asked her. “You sick or sumfin?” Navi stared back at him, doe-eyed, and slowly nodded her head up and down. “You dope-sick gurrl? You need yer fix now or what?” he asked. She just nodded her head in slow motion again. “Get in mah cadillac car and I’ll get you cleaned up baby and I’ll get you some good dope. Get on in hurr girl and let Daddy take care of you baby, we don’t want you out hurr sick and dirty and bare footed.”

Navi reached down and put her hand on the cold chrome door handle. She knew this was probably not the best thing she could do but she suddenly felt it was her only choice. This man obviously had some money, he was in a fancy car, dressed in fine clothes and had been smoking some pretty potent pot in his Swisher Sweet blunt. She knew he could afford to get her the dope she needed, and probably another room so she could clean herself up. Who knew, he may even buy her a new outfit and a pair of shoes.

He was staring her right in the eyes, that hand dangling over the steering wheel, just waiting for her to pull the door open and get in the car. He looked almost kind to her, like he really did want to help her. Like he really did care.

Navi took a deep breath and pulled the handle on the dark red door. As she sunk into the warm leather seat he hit the lever to put the dark tinted window up. She exhaled slowly and turned to look at his face, keeping her eyes big and wide and trying to look as innocent as possible, hoping he would feel sorry for her and help her. “Baby, you done a good thing, it’s a smart move getting in this cadillac car with Big Daddy. I’ma take care of you gurrl, don’t you worry your pretty lil’ head.” Navi felt her heart stop as the door locks engaged when he pulled down on the gear shift. They slowly ambled out of the parking lot, onto the wide street and passed by the busy concrete apartment buildings.

As they drove off, Navi started to feel the familiar tinge of sickness in her stomach and the cramping in her arm, leg and back muscles. She put her hand over her belly and stared out the window, hoping with all the hope that she had left that this man was taking her to get her medicine.
