Helen's Last Family Holiday

Our Mum was diagnosed in 2013 with stage 3 invasion ductal carcinoma (Breast Cancer). She had a mastectomy and completed 6 rounds of strong chemo and 28 rounds of radiation, completing all her treatment by Christmas 2013.
2015 during a follow up with her surgeon, it was determined that the cancer had returned to her spine and hips. She was given radiation to her spine and hips. This caused a vertebrae in her lower spine to fracture that now hinders her ability to get around. In April of this year, we found that it has now spread further to her brain & lung. The doctors told us that they would give mum radiation to her brain but we had likely lost the mum that we knew and loved. Medication that the doctors gave her to help with the cancer in her brain also caused her to get pneumonia. We had to make the difficult choice to place mum in a coma to fight the infection. After 8 scary days of her being touch and go, we finally woke her up but it was another 4 weeks until we could get her back to normal.
With the cancer being in her organs, the doctors prognosis changed from 2-10 years to 6-12 months.
She has worked full time her whole life (up until she was diagnosed terminal) and never had any days off work including never really had holidays, except for Christmas time each year. She put everybody first and never thought about herself or anything she wanted.
*UPDATE*
So we haven't been able to hit her big holiday adventure but maybe we could just aim for a small holiday close by with her family :)
