Hello Everyone!
My name is Heisha Trilla, before I share my story I would like to to thank you for taking time to listen to it and for supporting me in my educational endeavors. Recently I graduated from Blackstone Academy Charter School and I'm excited to share that I've been accepted to Saint Anselm College, my dream school. I'm thrilled to attend classes at Saint A's because of the challenging (yet supportive) educational environment that it shares with its students, along with the fact that it gives me the opportunity to get out into the wilderness to discover more of its wonders.
Currently my mother has been out of work because a condition that has lead to her being hospitalized for a couple of weeks. This time out of work has made it hard for her to pay for several bills and practically impossible to pay for the remaining portion of my tuition.
In order to attend Saint Anselm, I will need some financial assistance. Despite scholarships and grants awarded to me by the school, family and personal contributions, student loans, and work study, the cost for my first two semesters is still above what my family can afford to pay. I am hoping to raise around $5,500 dollars. In order to enroll at Saint Anselm, I need to raise a portion of what I owe within the next few weeks to indicate that I have enough funds to attend. All donations that exceed the my goal will be used towards tuition and class materials in the upcoming school years.
I'm a first generation student planning on studying psychology in order to pursue a career in the research fields that’ll help people struggling with addiction and other mental health issues. Various family members and close family friends have struggled with substance addiction and have faced numerous years of incarceration as a result if it. Because of them, I have been inspired to help those in need through medical and psychological research.
