To Support Heather Parham

On January 16th, Heather Parham was the victim of  a mass club shooting  while vacationing in Playa Del Carmen. Heather was shot as her and her friends were laying down hiding behind tables during the gunfire. She was seen in an emergency room in Mexico, as well as in the states when she traveled back. Both physicians and surgeons seperately decided that leaving the bullet in her leg was the best course of action, as removing it would cause too much damage. She is currently unable to walk without assistance with the bullet being embedded about 3cm into her hamstring.

Heather is a student, bartender, server and snowboard instructor- Heather can almost always be found on the mountain or in a yoga or spin studio, so being immobile is extremely difficult for her. We are unsure exactly how long it will take for her to recover from her injury before she can return to work and presume life as normal. She understands how serious this could have been and is very humbled by everyones words of love and well wishes.

For anyone who knows Heather Parham personally, you know she is one of the most amazing human beings to ever step foot on this planet. She is kind to everyone she meets, it is hard to not immediately notice the light that risides within her. Even as she waited in the emergency room in Mexico she was not concerned with her own injury so much as she was saddened by the family in the room next to hers, who she could hear grieving for their loved one who had been fatally shot.

We have set the goal to help her out, by calculating the unexpected expenses that have accrued during this tradgedy. We believe this will relieve her of any more stress during this process is crucial to her recovery. If you know Heather, she is an extremely independent and strong willed individual. While her 'fighter' quality is one of her most commendable traits, we dont want her rushing back to work the second that she thinks she can. We believe this could hinder her all around recovery, as we are unsure of the exact outcome, timeframe, and how this may effect her and her mobility in the long term.
