Heart Surgery for the Twins

Donation protected

Ashton and Kendal Pluchinsky are just 16 years old and are twins.  Recently Kendal was at a cross country practice in their hometown of Delton, MI.  Kendal began experiencing some chest pain followed by a dangerously fast heart rate ranging between 110-260.  His family rushed him to the ER.  After 4 hours of testing and meds the Plunchinsky's were informed that their son had Wolff Parkinson White Syndrome.  This is a potentially fatal disease if not corrected.  The decision was made to transport Kendal via special ambulance to the University of Michigan where they admitted him into Pediatric Cadiac unit in the ICU.  After 8 hours of surgery, they fixed the problem and he is recovering.  He will need to  be monitored.  However, because Ashton and Kendal are twins they needed to test Ashton to rule out the syndrome in him.  Unfortuntly, Ashton also has Wolff Parkinson White Syndrome as well.  They scheduled Ashton's surgery just two weeks later, however there were complications and they were unable to correct the problem so he will need additional surgery which is scheduled in December.

Luke 6:38
"Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”

The family is under severe financial strain as Rob, the twins father, is disabled and unable to hold down a full time job.  Their mother does work full time, but due to the frequent 2 hour trips (each way)to Ann Arbor, hotel and food while they are there, plus out of pocket doctor expenses, etc, the family is feeling the strain!  They do not have propane for heat, their electric is due to be shut off, their phone and internet has been shut off which makes it difficult for Rob to complete the work he is able to do, and they are behind in their mortgage and now they are looking at paying for 2 heart surgeries!!

A little about the boys:

Ashton plays the trupet in band and has won the Musicianship award twice and the Directors award.  He runs cross country and has received several medals and holds a spot on the Delton Kellogg All Time Fastest Runner list for a 18:22 5k.  He also runs track, and has hadvthe leading role in the Drama Group his 7th and 8th grade year.  He also works for a winter sports place called Echo Valley in Richland. He serves in his local church working in the Children's Ministry and runs cameras for the main church.

Kendal is in the band and plays the baritone.  He also has won the Musicianship award and Directors award.  He has participated in Drama his 7th-9th grade years and loves being on stage!  He is an amazing athlete.  His father says if you get in a sprint with him near the finish line "you had better have saved some gas cause his kick in the end is one of kind and he will win!" Kendal also works at Echo during the winter months.  Kendal, like his brother, serves at his local church in the Children's ministry as well as running camera for the main church.

The following is a quote from their father Rob:

"These boys are amazing...They have blessed parents, kids, teachers, youth leaders, and pastors.  They have there own littel following and I am super proud and super humbled to have to ask for help.  I have sat back and thought "If only I had done this or that maybe I wouldn't be in this financial situation", but I am blessed that they are still alive.   This has been a bad time for us...I had 2 surgeries and am facing another myself, we have a family member with cancer, another in remission and others with surgery in the near future.  Just all at once ,it is hard to take.  I had promised the boyt they could take drivers training last month and they worked hard to help pay for it and we had to use the money for necessities.  I'm not raising money for a trip or so we can sit back and not have to work, I just want a little time of peace to not have to worry so much about the bills and money so we can focus on them getting better."

Matthew 5:42
"Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you."

How you can help:

Whether you can give $500 or $5, any amount will help this family from losing their home, being without heat or electricity while also helping with travel expenses so they can be with their son as he goes through another surgery.  The holidays are quickly approaching which adds to the critical nature of their financial need!  PLEASE take time and help them out!
Matthew 25:44-45
“They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’
45 “He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’
