Hearing aids for Salomé

Our daughter, Salomé was diagnosed in 2004 with an aggressive brain cancer, medulloblastoma, at the age of three.  During two years she was treated with two craniotomies, chemotherapy and stem cell recovery, and she was finally declared cured last year.

As a result of chemotherapy Salomé got a bilateral moderate to profound sensorineural hearing loss. Since then she has been using hearing aids and she receives services at school where she needs to use a FM system to listen in class.   Salomé’s current insurance does not cover hearing aids or hearing aid related services. 

Since February 2017 she is having difficulty hearing with her 8-year old hearing aids.  The Children’s Hearing and Speech Center provided her with loaner hearing aids while we acquire funds for the ones she needs, which cost $5,870 (this already includes a 50% reduction offered by the Children's Medical Network).
