We are starting up this gofundme account to help with my Mom, Lorna's, substantial medical debt.
It is our prayer to see my mom's health completly restored - to be able to play with and really enjoy her family and grandbabies. To be able to breathe.
To get back to her beautful, healthy 140 lbs.
Instead of the low 100 lbs range she's in now.
It's been terrifying many times, for mom and all of us who love her so much.
My mom has Lupus as well Bronchiolitis Obliterans, a debilitating lung disease which makes it very difficult to breathe. She has been to numerous specialists and two trips to the Mayo Clinic but nobody has been able to provide any successful treatments. Her health has been declining for over a decade but recent rapid decrease has left us with the fear of it being terminal. Her doctor recommended she be put on a lung transplant list since lung function tests show her lungs are only working at about 25%. A lung transplant is very risky, with many side effects, but thankfully we now have new hope with a much less invasive procedure! She recently traveled with my dad to the Lung Institute in Tennessee for this procedure where stem cells were taken from her blood then relocated to her lungs. Our hope is new cells will generate and increase lung function. This is a two part treatment so she will return to Tennessee in another 3 months to receive the second treatment. Unfortunately, none of this is covered by insurance.
She has a kind heart, sweet spirit, and positive attitude. We cannot adequately express what a blessing she is to everyone around her. We are hoping this gofundme account will ease the stress of the financial burden.
