Healing Heroes thru the Outdoors

Tax deductible
WARHAWGS was founded to provide an all-inclusive outdoor Adaptive Sports experience for Veterans, Active Duty and First Responders. Our Adaptive Sports Program provides an outlet through hunting and other outdoor events to ease the stress of recovery and everyday life for those that are or have served the communities and this great country. Within AL, FL, GA, MS and TN there are over 2.7 million veterans; 700,000 of which are disabled with 160,000 having a 70% or higher disability rating. There are also over 186,000 First Responders that can take advantage of the programs offered by WARHAWGS.

WARHAWGS’ Adaptive Sports Program helps Disabled Veterans, Veterans, Active Duty Military, and First Responders by promoting self-esteem, conflict resolution and enhances their quality of life. We serve veterans recovering from and learning to adjust to life with spinal cord injuries (SCI), traumatic brain injuries (TBI), loss of sight, and post- traumatic stress (PTS).  We accommodate some of our most injured military heroes thus helping these honored veterans find their “new normal”.

WARHAWGS currently has over 135 veterans on a waiting list wishing to take part in our field activities. Most of the Veterans on this list have some degree of disability that must be overcome or adapted to. In order to serve these warriors, we are in immediate need of acquiring off-road mobility aids, wheelchair accessible stands and blinds, and other equipment. Our current inventory of equipment and supplies are limited and severely restrict the number of participants that can be provided for.

During 2018, WARHAWGS is striving to not only provide a memorable outdoor Adaptive Sports experience for those on the waiting list, but, also conduct six family oriented events in conjunction with area military installations. With these events, WARHAWGS is looking forward to helping improve the quality of life of 650-750 veterans and their families.  In order to achieve these goals, WARHAWGS needs your assistance in raising funds to directly support these activities.

WARHAWGS’ board members, whom are all veterans themselves, receive no compensation for administering these programs.  WARHAWGS also limits all administrative costs to less than 5%; the majority of which go toward promoting the programs and sponsors at events such as hunting and gun shows, peanut festival, fireworks shows, and other community events. Donations/Sponsorship funds gathered will be utilized to directly support these programs through the purchase of mobility aids, wheel chair accessible carts, stands, and blinds, hunting equipment and related supplies, land leases and facilitating family oriented outdoor events.

Please support these efforts through a donation or sponsorship for the 2018 year.
