Healing Funds for the Davids

On August 18, while David York and David North were traveling through New Jersey on their way to Maine, David York experienced a medical crisis.  David North was able to get David York to the closest hospital, located in Hamilton NJ.  David York has since undergone surgery and has been intubated and sedated and in ICU.   There have been ups and downs in his response to treatment.  Hopefully, soon his medical team will begin weaning him off the respirator and sedatives to allow him to begin waking up.

It is hoped that David York recovers enough to be soon be moved to a regular hospital room.  At this point, though, It is not known how long David will remain in the ICU.   

David North is getting rest, eating right, striving to be patient.  During the days he is at the hospital, an integral member of the care team.  At night he is staying at a hotel near the hospital.  The hospital staff are absolutely wonderful, supportive, transparent, informative, and include David North in discussions and strategies.   The hotel staff has also been hugely supportive of the expressions of care that have been extended to the Davids.

Funds raised in this campaign will help defray the cost of David North’s living expenses (room/food/basic supplies) while he stays in New Jersey, as well as the costs of care and treatment that will not be covered by their insurance.
