HEADSPACE MENTAL HEALTH FUNDRAISER
Hello !
We’re a class of students from the Australian Institute of Music in Sydney wanting to create an event to raise money for national youth mental health foundation, Headspace.
Mental health and wellbeing is an incredibly important issue for young people today and everyone has a brother , sister , cousin or friend that is probably dealing with or will deal with mental health issues.
One in four young people have experienced a mental health issue in the last 12 months, and worse - suicide is the leading cause of death in young people.
Research shows that 75% of mental health issues emerge before the age of 25 but treating these issues early and providing a holistic model of support, the risk of them developing into more serious problems is greatly decreased.
Headspace has help over 75,000 young people each year, providing assistance and services across mental health, physical health, work and study support as well as alcohol and drug services to 12-25 year olds.
On the 16th of August as a class we intend to put on a collaborative event at Freda’s in Chippendale. The event would host local creatives, bands and performers under an exciting and colourful Andy Warhol inspired theme. While showcasing local talent, all proceeds from this event will go towards Headspace.
With this page we hope to raise enough funds so that we as a group can put on the most entertaining event possible while raising awareness for the charity, that in turn will attract people to purchase tickets to the event with every cent from every ticket and every dollar made from the event going Straight to Headspace.
Any donation big or small would be much appreciated!
And thank you :)
