Heading to Rabbinical School

Since I was a teenager I have been trying to answer the question "how can the Jewish community provide support to youth in crises?" Over the years I have worked for programs that provided specific needs and skill sets to children and young adults. While gaining a deep understanding of how the Jewish community works I noticed gaps in our systems. When it comes to providing services and counseling to those struggling with mental illness and addictive disorders the Jewish community is limited in how it shows up. We have a few options and even fewer leaders who have taken it upon themselves to remove the stigma surrounding these challenges for the youth of our communities. 

The Jewish community needs Rabbi's who can stand up in shul, or pitch a tent in the woods, or be in a classroom all the while infusing spiritual and clinical based counseling into the lives of our brothers and sisters. And this is exactly what I will continue to do. Over the next five years, I will be attending Hebrew College to pursue Rabbinical Ordination focusing on clinical care for our youth. But I can not do this alone. I need reminders to go for a hike, or sing niggunim with friends and financial support from people like you. 

Please note the costs of educational and personal expenses are much greater than my asking. I am hoping to raise at least $6500 this summer to help ease the transition to my academic career.
