On Tuesday June 19 Tyler Brunet went out for his usual bike ride after work. He and Chloe had been in Kelowna barely 2 weeks and were settling into their new life in the Okanagan. Tyler worked hard on construction sites in Kelowna and Chloe spent her days working on their dream of an e-commerce business.
Chloe and Tyler exemplify partnership in life and in work, they inspire and motivate each other. where one of them needed expertise and support the other would step in. On Tuesday afternoon as Tyler got home from work he pumped Chloe up to go to an industry event on her own. He is never short of positivity and words of inspiration for anyone especially his girl!
8 PM rolled around, that night, and Tyler still wasn't home so Chloe called his phone having anyones worst nightmare come true; 'Kelowna General Hospital' said the voice on the other end of the phone. Tyler had not taken his wallet on his ride and his phone was locked with a password so they couldn't get a hold of anyone or find out who he was. We still don't know who found him or much around the events that took place between the hours of 5 and 8 PM on Tuesday. What we do know is he suffered a very bad fall that has resulted in a catastrophic brain injury.
As I write this, Tyler Brunet, is in ICU in Kelowna General Hospital with 24 hr one-on-one care. He is being looked after by an expert medical team including a neuro surgeon. He is in critical condition with brain swelling being the biggest issue. Please follow along on this journey with us at:
