Tori's medical bills from accident

Donation protected
As many of you may know, Tori was involved in a horrible car accident on October 8, 2014. For those of you who do not know, she was impaled by a deer that was trying to cross Johnson Ave. in Jonesboro, AR. It came crashing through her driver's side window, completely displacing a large section of her jaw. She spent 6 nights in Le Bonheur Children's hospital and endured a 5 hour jaw reconstruction surgery. Overall, she has healed so well that most people would never know that she had been throught such a traumatic event. Sadly, she has been through the removal of one of her plates, sinus surgery which included the repair of her septum, 3 root canals of which 2 would not have been possible if not for the generosity of the people who donated to this gofundme account.  One of those root canals was done due to her tooth dying because of the damage from the accident. Now, she has had to have her bottom left eye tooth pulled because of infection that just would not clear up. The dentist tried to leave it in her mouth as long as possible, but it got to the point it had to come out. In order to keep her from having a gap in the front of her mouth for everyone to see, her dentist attached the tooth to her braces. Granted, she does not have an open space there, but she has a tooth that moves and reminds her that she has that space. My medical insurance denied payment for the implant she is needing, so we filed an appeal. The dentist wrote a letter of appeal, as did Tori and I. These were all letters asking the insurance company to understand what she has been through and that these procedures were not due to poor dental hygiene but a horrible accident that was not her fault. I even had pictures of her from the day of the accident and the day of her surgery in the document. Unbelievably, United Healthcare upheld their decision not to pay. The implant including all of the steps to actually be able to put it in place is going to cost Tori somewhere around $4000, give or take a little. Neither Tori nor her dad and I have that kind of money. Even if we paid this out, the payment would be a strain. Tori is going to school full time to be a High School English teacher while working a part time job, and she lives on her own and pays all of her own bills. Her dad and I are so very proud of her. When I told her about the insurance decision, she broke down and was in total disbelief. As I mentioned earlier, she looks amazing on the outside, so much so that people just don't realize how broken she is on the inside, physically and emotionally. At the risk of people criticizing me for asking people to help her once again, I find myself doing what any concerned mom would do. That is whatever it takes to make sure my baby girl is taken care of. I realize there are so many people needing help in this world with everything that has happened lately, but I just feel like I have to do this fo her. She does not deserve any of this. Tori is one of the strongest young ladies I know, and she will rise above all of this and have quite a testimony to share. God bless you for helping Tori get through yet another hurdle in her recovery, and some day, we will pay it forward.
