Hayhurst Chess Club Needs Help!

The Hayhurst Chess Club has grown into the largest and most inclusive student club at Hayhurst, serving more than 60 kids at our twice weekly practices during both the Fall and Spring. The club is run by the school librarian, Tricia, and coached by two parent volunteers, Chad and Caleb, with generous support from Chess for Success.
We have spent the last year sampling different chess curricula. After trying each with the kids, we've found they learned the most from the sample videos from Chess Kid. Thus, we are raising money to purchase annual subscriptions to Chess Kid for every member of the club. Subscriptions usually cost $50 per student, but by buying in bulk, we can get the cost down to as low as $7 per student.
We sampled the Chess Kid video library this year and had great success. The kids learn better from their instructional videos than from our own lessons. We are confident this curriculum will make chess more accessible to our beginning students, while also helping develop our most advanced students.
Chess Kid Gold Memberships will give every club member access to chess lessons both at school and at home, via computer or mobile device. Kids can watch chess videos (their favorite), solve puzzles, and play against other kids all over the world (or against the computer). Coaches can review their games and help them improve. It's like IXL for chess.
We are setting a budget that anticipates 50 Chess Kid users. If we raise more than $350, the extra money will purchase more Chess Kid Accounts (as needed), chess notation books ($3-4 per book), chess clocks ($50 each), and tournament scholarships ($20 each).
