Hay to feed rescue horses

The Funds raised will help defer some of the costs of hay to feed our horses in the upcoming winter months.  *Providing hay in the winter months helps our equines maintain body temperature and stay warm in the cold months*

The Virginia Equine Welfare Society, Inc. (VEWS) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit all volunteer based Virginia corporation working to prevent equine abuse and neglect. Our mission is to rescue and rehabilitate equines in need. Most of our rescued equines are from slaughter house actions. They arrive malnourished and typically in dire need of medical attention. Once we stabilize them physically we continue our efforts to help heal their emotional and mental wounds. We ascribe to the Natural Horsemanship philosophy and work as partners with them for their rehabilitation and training.  Our ultimate goal is finding each and every one of our equines their loving, forever homes.

We are a 100% self-funded organization run and worked by volunteers. 100% of any funds donated goes directly to the care and rehab of our amazing equine friends.  Last year we rescued 11 horses and adopted out 9 horses to their forever homes. No donation is to small as all donations helps feed our beloved horses. Thank you!
