Hopi to Australia June 2012
In September 2011 my daughter Halli Lomayaktewa, was selected to participate with the People to People Student Ambassador program to travel to Australia in June 2012. Since that time my family and I have been raising funds for the tuition into the program. Your donations will help Halli reach her goal and travel to a place she can only dream of...
I have lowered the overall goal of funds to $1,000.
We are glad to share the news that through your generous donations I will be able to experience an adventure that I would've not had, if not for the People to People Student Ambassador Program. I look forward to my trip and will post pictures of my adventure when during and after my trip on my Facebook page.
Askwali' for all your help!
We have a country dance planned for this evening (4/20/12), come join us at the Hopi Veteran's Memorial Center. Bands are Bordertown Natives and Sunfire.
We are still selling raffle tickets, drawing will be on Monday, April 30, 2012. Prizes range from fishing equipment, pottery, katsina dolls to pillows, shawls and hand bags. Contact either Halli or I if your interested in purchasing tickets.
Thanks to all that have donated, many, many thanks to our relatives that have and continue to work tirelessly by our side!
Although we are only months away from the trip date, this experience will stay with Halli a lifetime. Thank you to those that have given now and at the beginning of our challege!
For her participation in the People to People Student Ambassador Program, she will receive credit towards her Social Studies requirements and earn invalulable knowledge and experience of other cultures and travel.
