Good day family and friends, for those who don’t know me my name is Walden St-Juste an educator and basketball coach for the city of Hartford. I’ve been involved in my community since I realized I had a gift to be a leader and a role model not only for my peers but for the youth as well. I’m coming to you today because there are many children in my community that have great talent but lack financial resources to get involved in quality community programs. Research has suggested there is a correlation between academic success and participation in extracurricular activities. Urban youth taking part in extracurricular activities, such as AAU basketball, often display improved academic achievement, decreased absenteeism, and increased aspirations for continuing education beyond high school. Your donations will help sponsor Four student athletes from Hartford to play AAU basketball for the Northstars. Student/athletes are allowed to be on a payment plan and final payments are due May 1, 2017.
